Power of the Daleks in USA MOVIE THEATRES
I wish it was the original broadcast version only this time in CinemaScope® and glorious Technicolor.
*Heard they had a lot of fun with some professional cine equipment and some 35mm optical sound colour negative film stock during camera rehearsals lols

On a more serious note tho....
Is the storyline/script for POTD very relevant now and perhaps coming along at an appropriate time where machines ie: smart phones, tablets , internet is kind of taking over society under the allusions that it is somehow benefiting humanity when in fact it could be the oppositie ?
The line from the cliffhanger at the end of episode 2 springs to mind
Daleks: I am your servant,I am your servant, I am your servant...

The other animated reconstructions of episodes were obviously done in the same square aspect ratio of any TV show, but this theatrical release means (I assume) that the picture will be rectangular like any movie. Will the BBC Shop downloads look like a movie? Will purists still be able to watch it as a square picture? Will the DVD have widescreen and full-frame options? I'm just wondering how this will work exactly.

Will most of the Daleks be cardboard cutouts? Much as I'd like to see the original programme, it wouldn't work as a cinema film even if they'd shot it in colour 35mm.

Don't think I like the idea of Doctor Who programmes being shown in cinemas to be truthful. It's overkill in my opinion, but I understand the needs of special events such as the release of the animation of an important story to give it as much publicity as possible. But would a general cinema-goer pay to see it?I'm not so sure.Themed events such as those celebrating 50 years of Doctor Who organised by the BFI are more fitting as that location invokes the golden-age of television and as such creates greater publicity and attendance as spaces are limited.Showing it in half-empty cinemas seems a little forced and dilutes it's effectiveness. And besides,TV is a more intimate medium and translates poorly to the big-screen to be honest.

The weaknesses in the production standards of the original monochrome tv version would be much more noticeable when projected onto a large cinema screen even with or even more so had they been shot on a higher grain/resolution format in colour.
