Thanks for posting this, Paul. It brings back great memories to see all that equipment. I "worked my way through " university at a movie house. Among my many jobs besides ticket seller/taker, film go-fer (as in, "Tom will go-fer the film prints"), and and editor/splicer ( as in, cutting and resplicing films/reels that had been mangled and put together out of order - you have not lived until you have seen "From Russia With Love" COMPLETELY assembled out of sequence except for the opening and closing credits, with less than four hours till first show that evening), I was trained to run a couple of big, old Cinemascope projectors that were older than I was by a long sight. Noisy damn things in the booth, and they had a smell about them of antiquity, but what images they projected! One of the absolute best jobs I ever had.
