But we're pretty optimistic/certain that Philip Morris has found more and is doing his up-most to follow up all potential leads so that he can categorically say that everything that exists does exist and has been located. This is to be done in secrecy so as not to hinder or endanger his gargantuan efforts. But more has been found.
There,I've summed it up in a very long nutshell, but you get the gist. But I'm happy that more will be coming at some point.

The last piece of news from Phil about a potential find was about Web 3, but sharing that info openly may indicate that hope is lost. He did share pics so that we can verify that there actually was a Web 3. He is still checking in case he finds more, but I believe the " wind going the right direction" was about this episode.
as far as in concerned, the omni rumor is dead and I'm thankful that we got as much as we did

Listening to Phil's comments around the time of the WOF3 revelations and reading between the lines, I'm confident that he is sitting on further finds. However, he has made clear that in order to maximise future discoveries, he will not reveal anything until his search is complete. No idea when this will be - maybe not for some time as he is leaving no stone unturned. I guess the longer his silence continues, the more thorough he is clearly being with his search.

I guess we interpret his words differently.
At the time of the wind blowing, he was very secretive as to what was in the works. It could have been leads, one episode, or many episodes.
Since he announced the loss of Web 3, he is no longer saying that the wind is blowing. Also, he said that wheel snowman were not with the others implying they were lost. It was also mentioned that major archives have already been searched.
The delay in releasing enemy Web was explained as the hope of finding Web 3, a situation which would not be a factor if others were found.
He did say he will continue looking for Web 3, but some feel that the announcement of the situation implies he is not optimistic. The fact that he would not announce until completed and he made the announcement about Web 3, could imply he is beginning to wrap up.
Hopefully there is more, but I think the omni rumor has overshadowed the real find which in itself is a miracle.

I think it'll be a lifelong search for Web 3.

I think that the search will go on for ever at various levels of intensity. For me the Omni rumor is long over, dead and buried. I don't think that he would be sitting on any recoveries for this long (assuming he has gotten them back to the United Kingdom).
Just my thoughts I am grateful for everything we have gotten back since 1981 but it was to much to expect that every episode that was hinted in the Omni rumor was actually recoverd

I think it'll be a lifelong search for Web 3. It's sad when one Nigerian employee can do so much hurt to others:(

I think it'll be a lifelong search for Web 3. It's sad when one Nigerian employee can do so much hurt to others:( As someone who works in a chaotic school art department, I can only say don't give up hope! We mislay things all the time, only for them to turn up months or years later in the most random places. I suggest looking behind the fridge or under the leg of a wobbly table. But seriously, we should never give up hope. History is never finished, just never completely rediscovered.

The only news we have had since 2013 has been bad news concerning episode 3 of The Web of Fear. We really could use some good news. I can see why fans could be losing hope in the omni-rumor.

The internet is what blew the Omni rumor out of proportion. Sadly if this was handled in the exact same way as the recovery of The War Machines, The Time Meddler and The Web Planet in the pre internet days then things would not have been blown so far out of proportion. True we would have had a few low print run fanzines that would have carried the rumor but it would not have spread out of control like the plague. True Doctor Who Monthly and Doctor Who Bulletin would have also carried the rumor but in a much more controlled environment. Yes we would have had lots of letters printed in DWB for sure over the next 8 or 9 issues but this would be the maximum extent.

I know of no reason to consider the Omni dead, apart from people being impatient waiting so long.
T.I.E.A has done and is doing great work, so they should take whatever time is required for the search. It has been methodical, and that's why it has taken so long. If the reveal is a massive Omnirumor haul, that will be incredible, but if the reveal is only very modest, that will just be what it will be. Either way, I'll always be extremely grateful that the effort was made.
The only way I would have been disappointed is if all the films in Zambia and the other places had just decayed away to vinegar without anyone even checking if missing episodes might have been among those decaying films.
Happily, someone made the effort and went and looked … and looked just about everywhere! That's stupendous and went far beyond my wildest hopes. So, at the very least, we have Enemy and (most of) Web back as a result of this search, and we will also eventually know more about the missing episode situation.
Come what may, we won't have to worry that the missing episodes will never been seen just for lack of anyone accomplishing a proper investigation, because that investigation has been done.
