News footage of the original cast of Dad's Army being interviewed has been unearthed. It shows cast members, including Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier and Clive Dunn interviewed in character as they attended a vintage vehicle rally in Brighton in 1974. The BBC South Today film report, which has not been broadcast for more than 40 years, was found in the library at BBC Broadcasting House in Southampton. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-35492517

I'm always nervous at interviews done "in character", a.k.a.Why We Pay Writers.

"The original tape went missing".. really? I thought some idiot(s) had instructed a drone to wipe the tapes.

Ed Doolan had a big collection of TV audio. This is one of his tapes.

Has there been a, list of audio in his collection? There may have been something like that. I just know that he has some Frost Reports and some DNAYS and Twice a Fortnight. But the problem is - as far as I understand - that KAL has received many tapes, not just from Ed Doolan, and who is going to run through all those tapes checking and copying everything? Could well be hundreds of hours or even more.

I'm thankful that Kal has stepped up to this, but it would be great if someone without the sharing restraints of Kal could work on this also

In fact KAL and - sometimes - the BBC are the only ones who take in audio recoveries. And I am not sure how well KAL is doing these days.
