Sad and really unexpected. He made Junior Choice his own and always came across as a fun nice guy. Not to mention Crackerjack with Don & Pete. Unfortunately I can't remember his Radio London days, too young, living in Carlisle with older parents wasn't ideal for that.

Junior Choice on Saturday & Sunday were a must listen for me in the early 70's. Thanks, Stewpot for some wonderful radio. R.I.P.

Like Bowie an untimely and unexpected death. I didn't notice much in the media, a friend told me about it. In terms of Eds TV appearances so far as I know the BBC archive is fair, with Ed Stewarts 1971 TOTP appearance; more or less all of 'Ed and Zed', and a few of his Crackerjacks; (series otherwise depleted); existing.
ITV not so good as far as I know. I think little of 'Stewpot' exists. Do remember liking it, every Saturday about 1970 - 71. Ed Stewart was one of the few respectable nice guys of that period of DJs left. The retention of his traditional presenting style I also noted on Xmas day. Shortly after this happens, what a shock.
