I don't think many people could afford to save recordings in those days. Apparently in 1967 a one hour tape for the CV2000 cost £30. Which was almost two weeks average earnings. The recorder cost about £530.

Oh Ray (Gentle Nudge,Nudge) Wakey,Wakey!...WAKE UP!....CRASH,BANG,WALLOP! "TIME" for you to get in touch with Tony Tony has a Sunday lunchtime show on BBC RADIO LONDON 94.9 in which he takes telephone requests.Might be worth phoning him about his 1971 video recorder.By the way,his show is absolutely hilarious and he plays great music too..

Slightly off the subject I recently watched a S1 episode of The Sweeney made in 1974 where the always watchable Dudley Sutton led a gang of robbers planning a gold bullion robbery. As part of their scheme they used a Sony 2000 era VCR. I would imagine that this must be one of the earliest examples of a domestic use VCR figuring in the plot of a UK drama. For the record Regan and Carter foiled the blag and the villainous slags were all nicked.

Probably better off buttering up old Diddy to ask him... Well David's stuff has gone to Kaleidoscope already, so unless he's got any way that he can ask TB for us.... My attempts to contact Noel Edmonds got as far as his manager (twice), and....that was it....

Well you can go right back to The Baron and the episode Diplomatic Immunity where the Baron uses his hidden security system consisting of a Philips domestic video tape machine to identify the bad girl. The machine can be seen here www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhC0SFYPcXULater in the kid's thriller series Tightrope the familiar Sony 2000 is also part of the plot breaking into a school's TV system.
