there was a clip of the troughton story 'the ice warriors' which was featured in a edition of BBC2's excellent 1985 archive series 'windmill' presented by former 'that's life' reporter chris serle which shows clips and classic moments from the BBC's archives in windmill road in which the title of the programme came from which has a connection(i.e.animals,homes,christmas etc.), what other doctor who material was on that programme and also on it's replacement 'BOXPOPS'? does all editions & it's archive material on each show included in the archives today? or do they only have the chris serle links minus the archive footage?

Time cheats the memory. The clip shown on windmill was from the war games and the sound was overdubbed from a different part of the episode. I have it here on vhs.

There's another clip here, where they use footage from the 1977 documentary "The Lively Arts: Whose Doctor Who". The episode must date from 1984 at the earliest because the introduction features the head from the Mestor costume from 'The Twin Dilemma'. www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-fzXZ2u7jI

The very first edition of windmill was transmitted on the August Bank Holiday in 1985.

It was titled as the 'windmill bank holiday special'. Do these other BBC archive shows still exist? Star memories(1986) it's my pleasure(1987) & 'plunder'(1994) three shows, different titles, same format,a presenter sharing special guests TV memories. My memory of 'it's my pleasure' is my mum not only loved the programme but it's theme tune which was 'souvenir' by OMD & still loves it today in 2015 whenever she hears it somewhere!
