Except that it isn't leading the revolution with iPlayer. I refer to the issue of truncated recordings. Apparently the Beeb in its technical wisdom captures streaming from live radio broadcasts. The mind boggles as to why. These captures are then uploaded onto the iPlayer servers. However the timing of the captures has been narrowed. In the past you got about 3 minutes at the beginning and 3 minutes at the end outside the timing of the actual programme of interest. Now the timing has been so shortened that if a programme starts a little early then it'll miss the start, and if it finishes a little late then it'll miss the end. Apparently this latter case has irritated the h*ll out of Dad's Army and Navy Lark fans where the endings are key to enjoying the programmes. This timing issue has been raised on various Beeb forums by numerous iPlayer users but it has been going on for so long that the Beeb appears not to care one jot. So much for leading a revolution.
