Has any forum member ever heard of this TV show before?...nothing on "Lost Shows"
"A Spoonful of Sugar" which was seemingly only shown in the "North Region"
The synopsis was that hospital patients were asked who they would most like to meet
show 1 was filmed at Stanmore Hospital on the 16/06/67 and tx'd on the 14/07/67 Cat Stevens talked to the patients, also Ken Dodd was on the show.
show 2 featured Tom Jones during his Irish tour, was filmed at Belfast City Hospital and tx'd on the 21/07/67.
I presume singing was also involved? I don't know.

The show was shown on BBC1 London and South East, and it featured a different hospital each week, the show was introduced by Keith Macklin and Barbara McDonald, basically the show was a earlier version of Jim'll Fix It, where dreams came true for the sick children, (also like the Leslie Crowther Christmas Day hospital specials). Hope this helps...

Thanks Kelvin, for some reason I thought it was on an Independent channel! so I then looked at my Radio Times dvd and here it is probably no guests singing then! (sorry maybe should have posted this on General TV forum) That would be a good find if any editions turn up in the future including the one you've quoted featuring Ken Dodd. Keith Macklin was also a rugby league commentator, a journalist and was one of the founding members of the then Red Rose Radio in Preston. He also hosted The Sunday Quiz from 1973 to 1976 and a spin-off Junior Sunday Quiz from 1977 to 1978: lostshows.com/default.aspx?programme=f3e4c5dd-50e5-45ba-951a-29f9e9e61107There is no mention of the status of The Sunday Quiz, so its archive retention details remain elusive. I imagine at least some editions will survive, as Yorkshire kept a good number of their shows, but this is a very fitting tribute to Keith: www.theguardian.com/sport/2009/oct/01/keith-macklin-obituary

Keith Macklin was also the ORIGINAL host of BBC2's Rugby Special and Football commentator for Yorkshire TV in the late 60s-early/mid 70s.
