I imagine that some other missing desert island discs might reside with the participants. It would have been a lot easier to get a copy of this than a television performance if they wanted to. I expect a lot of guests would be unaware that the BBC never kept a copy of their episode Yep.Family and friends, fan clubs, agents, etc. would presumably be recording these when they could.

I've listened to it about fifty times now.
Watched every possible film Hartnell is in, listened to the audios, watched the DVD's, read the autobiography, seen the short interview.. to listen to new material, from the horses mouth, where he's so cerebral and sharp - wonderful stuff!

Cereal? He's breakfast? Surreal perhaps?

I was hoping for Frosted Oat Hartnell Rings. Just add milk. Now with marshmallows in the shape of all your favorite monsters! Monoids, Daleks, Varga, Chumblies, and more!
On the back of the box is a "Can You Find All 13 missing stories?" picture. Sort of like Where's Waldo ... I mean Wally.
P.S. I'm off track. Sorry mods. I've yet to listen to the entirety of the radio interview. Is this the second and only interview we have of Hartnell? I know that the video interview was the first found, but I didn't know if we had other radio interviews with Hartnell.

I can barely hear it-it's so low on the laptop.Frustrating.If we knew how long the missing clips/songs were,we could work out how much of the interview is missing. All the best soundbites,it seems.I'm still surprised that he was called "Bill",but it was the time of informality and flower-power...

I hear it fine. I think there was a transcription of the interview printed. There was a link to it somewhere around on one of the forums...

I was rather disappointed by this thread. On first reading the title, I somehow omitted to read the last word, and was therefore momentarily under the impression that a rather more explosive discovery had been made, possibly also involving Lord Lucan and Shergar.

I still tHink it's an amazing recovery. I wouldn't expect to find hartnell on a desert island.

DNA evidence found that the vertebrae were not those of Amelia Earhart... Were they the vertebrae of William Hartnell?

I didn't know that one could edit one's posts when one is quoting others who are quoting one.(If you see what I mean).Could be very useful...

Did we ever find out exactly where this recording came from?
