When we ran it on C4 in the mid-80s, we asked the suppliers to give them to us as they weren't on the prints. Think we ran them off the Generic Titles tape - same thing happened with The Prisoner break bumpers.

Does the season 5 dvd also contain break bumpers and or ABC idents? All the Diana Rigg episodes originally had them but seem to have disappeared since the C4 repeats during the 1980s.

I remember the ABC idents quite clearly when The Avengers was shown late on Sunday night in Granadaland (very early seventies). Even then as a 13 year old I saw them and felt nostalgic for my lost youth......
What's a 'break bumper' when it's at home?

A piece of animation and a music sting from the programme to let you know an advert break was coming... or it was the end of an advert break and going back to the programme. 'The Prisoner' for example had a sort of spinning penny farthing zooming to black IIRC. Technically it was useful to warn technicians to cue their advert machines.
