I'm calling it, somewhat sadly, "Lost and Found Day." Just finished Tomb and now out to do a little yard work. Will finish with a pizza and a double feature of Abominable and Web. Family is out for the day, so I am looking forward to immersing myself thoroughly in a Troughton-fest. Are you going to listen to or watch a recon of The Abominable Snowmen Tom?

Well I watched The Five Doctors whilst having breakfast, and I'll be re-watching The Day of The Doctor (and almost certainly Night of The Doctor too) from the 50th Anniversary Blu-Ray set. It'll be the first Doctor Who story I've watched on Blu-Ray so a little bit of history there Happy birthday Doctor Who!

I'll probably get Day of the Doctor for Christmas on blu-ray.

Well, I've decided to go with a story I've rarely watched, so I'm thinking either The Krotons or The Mutants. The krotons is an underrated story imo. Some great scenes. I can only really rate the mutants as 'ok' if I am honest

Only got around to buying a blu-ray player a few months ago, so haven't got any of the earlier series on blu Ray, though do have 5 & 6 on DVD already. Never got around to buying series 7 as I made a point of not buying any more DVDs once I started thinking of going down the blu-ray route. Series 8 on blu-ray did turn up in the post last week though, so looking forward to re-visiting some Capaldis in the near future!

Are you going to listen to or watch a recon of The Abominable Snowmen Tom? I am going to watch a recon, Will. I have all my Who loaded onto a portable hard drive, including all the recons, which makes it as easy as possible for me to indulge.

The next story I WILL BE WATCHING IS THE SENSORITES and then THE TENTH PLANET. I wish another animation company would tackle DOCTOR WHO. Would love to see the rest of the stories animated.

Here in Australia, along with our Who repeats, we got years and years of The Goon Show every Saturday at noon. Of all the eps I heard in the 80s, The Silent Bugler has stuck with me the longest due to my love of Doctor Who. Why? An unexpected punchline that crosses time and space, that I couldn't quite believe I heard at the time: How did they know more than five years early? Did the Sixth Floor have fans of The Goon Show who recalled The Silent Bugler when it came time to schedule that way out new show, Doctor Who? Or, a la Galaxy Quest, is it ALL TRUE?! Either way - happy birthday, Doctor Who!
