Tomorrow is apparently the official 51st Anniversary and today is the Saturday equivliant, however nothing in the way of the fanfare we experienced last year is close to happening. No missing episodes. no headlines.. no special presentations. So, at the very least, a quiet solumn rememberance of William Hartnell.. The original Dr... and those who followed in his footsteps. DR WHO - IN MEMORIAM www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtM5tvfoyqE

Hmm. I should pick up on my Marathon. Been slacking as of late. I think I'm in the middle of Power of the Daleks.

Watched the Youtube video--sombre and touching. What a talent base. We should count ourselves fortunate for the dedication of these men and women and their contribution to our memories. "Tears, Sarah-Jane?" Oh, yes, indeed!

On a brighter note, what is everyone else planning to watch for the anniversary? I might go with the sea devils followed by some Troughton; maybe Tomb for the 5 millionth time

Well, I've decided to go with a story I've rarely watched, so I'm thinking either The Krotons or The Mutants.

On a brighter note, what is everyone else planning to watch for the anniversary? I might go with the sea devils followed by some Troughton; maybe Tomb for the 5 millionth time As I'd yet to watch it since I pre-ordered it, Peter Capaldi's opener, Deep Breath is what I just watched for the 51st! Had already seen the iView crummy-vision version, pretty sure I caught the local Aussie prime-time broadcast. But the HD files have been sitting in the iTunes library until I got caught up on the last couple of Matt's series. All done now! Aside from that, I did catch Cyril Shaps a little earlier in The Madness Of King George, but he singularly failed to perform any stage magic, complain about the "rarified atmosphere" or implore anyone to "look at the honeycomb"! ) Probably mix it up soon and go back to The Dead Planet in a few weeks, give Mum a taste of old style Who (all she's familiar with, though not a regular viewer) so before she sees the New Series, it's a bit of Doctors 1 to 3. 60s first, then a little early Pertwee! Can't show her Rose without Spearhead first, after all - especially now the latter's on Blu-Ray!

I think they did an amazing job on the spearhead bluray. excellent restoration.
I watched the first part of the dalek lala ward story. Im watching them sequencially and i thought it was very nice timing that a dalek story appears for the 51st

I'm calling it, somewhat sadly, "Lost and Found Day." Just finished Tomb and now out to do a little yard work. Will finish with a pizza and a double feature of Abominable and Web. Family is out for the day, so I am looking forward to immersing myself thoroughly in a Troughton-fest.
