Hi John Here it is.. Kitch's Club made by Scottish Television, written by Dick Vosburgh. Full cast was: Chic Murray (Host), Vivian Stanshall, The Tremeloes, Arrival, Clodagh Rodgers, Sandy Brown, The Rhada Krishna Temple. The Stage 04.06.70, reported that a pilot, under this provisional title, was to be recorded that same day.

Hi John, You've beaten me to it by mentioning this pilot show In the NME dated 6/6/70 it mentions a pilot show was filmed on the 5/6/70 it was actually to be called KITSCH'S CLUB STV expected it to be networked It was set in a 1930's style night-club,and was recorded in my home city of Edinburgh at the old Gateway Theatre Studio's said director Clarke Tait, It is an attempt to project pop in an entirely new way I'm going to the library this week so I'll see if I can find out any more information.

John, This has just got weirder. Please see this small article from the NME dated 27/6/70 as you see it mentions the pilot show with exactly the same guests, but states the name of the show as It's Never Happen sic....I looked that title up on Lost Shows but nothing. I was'nt surprised as that title does'nt make sense grammatically,so I tried It's Never Happened but still nothing Just thought I'd let you know another annoying thing is that this article finishes very abruptly as if the NME made a printing error and therefore a piece of the article is missing. see article below...

"Printing error".Wouldn't you flippin' know it? Given that the piolt wasn't uptaken, maybe "It'll Never Happen" would be more appropriate.Possibly a Guardian compositor was moonlighting that week...
Added: "piolt" was a mistake, but I'll leave it!

Scottish Television broadcast a programme called 'It May Never Happen' on Friday 19th June 1970 (6.30-7.00). That's probably the programme mentioned in the NME.
