Seeing those Out Of The Unknown clips jaw droppingly restored to colour was a revelation - I wanted to chew the furniture though as it stirred the desire to see the complete episodes so much! Would have loved to have been able to travel there for the preview - but alas... Thanks for the overview Laurence - out of interest, were all three of the surviving 'Liar!' clips shown (I'm assuming all three have been subject to the colour recovery process)? I gather that the surviving b/w fragment from 'Random Quest' has been colourised too - can this be confirmed? Thanks in advance for any further info :-)

Is Random Quest the brief clip with the woman falling down the stairs? If so, yes. The Liar! footage was shown as one seamless stream so I'm guessing that it was all the surviving material. None of the material had been VidFired, by the way, but it still looked very impressive! From the evidence we have, I reckon that series 3 of OOTU could well be one of the key missing jewels of British TV no less.

Does anyone know if the BFI have done any linking material for the missing section of "Little Black Bag"? I realise that the missing tele snaps will hinder this somewhat, but a talking head or on screen synopsis would work and help make more sense of the surviving material.

I am looking forward to getting this show.

Yes that's right - it would have been a brief clip featuring stunt woman Roberta Gibbs, originally shown as part of an interview on 'Nationwide'. Thanks for the further details - it all just whets my appetite for next months release even more...
