The SFC,which is at the Louis Round Wilson Special Collections Library at the University of North Carolina includes: Collection no.20410,the George Hamilton VI Collection with "films and videotapes of television shows...from the U.S.,the U.K.,and Canada",as well as interviews and performances from BBC Radio and Radio Scotland. (Not link-friendly).
Entries include: "Videotape VT-20410/3 BBC Video 'George Hamilton IV' prog 2.Recording no.SHIB 87709. 24 Oct. 1973 1/2 inch Scotch 361",another for 31/10/1973,and "BBC Snape Malting 1976","BBC-TV Littlewood 1978",etc. Audio recordings include "audiocassette Val Doonican BBC TV",which would be 23/4/1977 or 15/4/1978,I suppose. Is either of them missing?

I know about the GHIV, John. These were found by Lance Meenach and there is a previous thread on this. I believe the BBC have the Val Doonican.

Not to worry - rather something was covered twice! And I can do another search, it's one I'd forgotten!

Are these literally ex-BBC tapes? I've always hoped that artistes such as Bobbie Gentry might have paid to archive their own stuff...

Thanks,Ray. Might the undated ones listed include other missing-from-the-BBC episodes, including perhaps the Olivia Newton-John? GHIV seems very amiable.Perhaps he'd agree to copies being made? What sort of records survive of these sorts of sales? A few questions there.Answers appreciated! added: Here's the original thread with LanceM as the discoverer-and the same questions asked! missingepisodes.proboards.com/thread/6072
