| | Hartnell title sequence 'build up' material « Thread Started on Aug 7, 2012, 1:26pm » | |
Reading Richard Moleworth's excellent book, I came across a section regarding what existed of the original 'make-up' of the Hartnell and Troughton Titles.
The Hartnell 'build-up' material seems to comprise of around 70 mins of material that still exists. My question is this: has the footage of the 'people growing horns and turning into demons' been released? This was noted in another archive piece written by Richard before, in 1997. I'd love to see this footage, this is a question I've been wanting to ask... especially as so much exists...
I haven't kept upto date with Dr Who for a few years, so any help would be appreciated.

I did read that some of the Hartnell sequence reused footage made by Bernard Lodge for another programme.

Yes, a couple of snippets from these tests including one example of a live human looking like it has demonic horns has been used on a documentary that was on one of the DVD's in "The Beginning" boxset. Long time since I watched it but was part of an excellent documentary all about the origins of the show. Only very short bits though.

Lodge used part of the howlround (the opening streak) produced for Amahl and the Night Visitors a few years earlier.
