 The Krotons DVD extras
« Thread Started on Jul 2, 2012, 5:28pm »

I have just received my copy of The Krotons in the post, and note that one of the extras is 'Doctor Who Stories - Frazer Hines (Part One)'

I guess it's a coin flip between "The Ice Warriors" and a "Lost in Time 2" type release, where Part Two will be released, or if I reach for my 3 sided coin "The Ice Warriors" & "Underwater Menace" "Allotropes Story" box set!

Anyone got the inside scoop?

Tim

The general consensus on the rumours is that there will be an Ice Warriors DVD so part 2 would be on there I would ahve guessed.

However, with the news of teh commentary for Moonbase and Underwater Menance maybe on there. However, this are not strong Jamie stories, so Ice Warriors would make more sense to me.

The extras were good for the Krotons, even though (apart from the commentary) they didn't actually focus on the Krotons themselves.

Second Time Around was very good, expecially for teh clips from Underwater Menance part 2 :)

Will the missing episodes for THE ICE WARRIORS be animated?I hope it's not a straightforward transfer of the recons from the 1998 video box set onto the DVD althougth it would be nice to have them as extras....!

on the subject of Doctor Who DVD's - the ones I've got lately from Amazon appear to have a slightly different cover than the picture shown on the site, i.e. with a blue PG logo on them, is this the norm now?

Regards

Mark

Is that the Irish censor's certificate? My copy (from BBC Shop) has the conventional BBFC Yellow Triangle.

The purpose of the word " but " in the English language is to negate the sentiment expressed in the whole of the sentence that immediately precedes it.

It's rude comments such as the one you willfully chose to post that make this site a laughing stock to unregistered individuals.

Furthermore, comments of that nature can be more tactfully put by the moderator.

A bit of decency wouldn't go amiss Ronnie. :)

My personal feeling is that certain ammount of conversation on a forum is to be expected. Conversation is fairly organic and does go off in various directions. As long as the forum isn't flooded with off topic threads a bit of conversation is fairly natural between humans really. If anyone is really bothered by it they could always ask the mods to create an off topic section for general chat.

Ronnie, the first post is talking directly about the future DVD release of orphan episodes, not missing ones. You're right, they exist.

Before I reach for the ornamental samurai sword and disembowel myself, I hope you will accept my humble death as an apology for offending you.

My dying thoughts will be that your comments on the Hartnell ebay thread and the Fury Search thread were talking about episodes extant in the archive, and that they should have been made on an "Exisitng Episodes" forum. Oh I'll probably spare a thought for my family and compose some haiku.

I would normally agree with this - there are often threads here which have no relevance to missing episodes.

However...

On this occasion, there are clips from the recently recovered Underwater Menace episode on this DVD in one of the extras, so I think this time, it's fair enough to discuss it here.

While we're here though, I would ask that anyone contemplating starting a new thread in the Doctor Who section should think long and hard about how it falls under the remit of Missing Episodes. Other "General Doctor Who Discussion" forums are available for "favourite monster" type conversations and similar..! ;)

I'm so sorry about this, but there are some complete arseholes here; discourteous, arrogant and rude. I find it extraordinary how the beta-males who hide on forums can be so rude to innocent, polite people. No wonder you're having no luck!

Good luck Mr Vanesis with your work, you're a gentleman, but some of the other so called experts and some of the regulars are just bloody obnoxious. There's no excuse for talking down to people. I'm out of here. Good luck with your search.

Dear Oh dear, what a downer! What started as a mild bit of fun on a forum has turned into quite the spirit of meaness!Don't go Mr Burrows,we need you, especially as were so erudite above! You'll be back-as soon as another missing episode turns up!I don't know what to say-we're not uber fans,we don't make or write new generation DR WHO but this missing episodes site exists because we love and miss the CREATIVITY that original DR WHO defined. And as such,we are sad that those magical moments are gone, maybe forever.I know that whenever things get on top of me,this site is like an oasis-forever reminding me that once upon a time there was more to life than the recession, bank scandals etc.Creativity and the happiness that it brings is what this all about, the rest of it is as dull as dishwater as far as I'm concerned!
