@vgretro There's a rule that everyone must use their real name as a username on this forum. It hasn't been strictly enforced, but it's there.
Forum rules are located here: http://missingepisodes.proboards.com/ind....lay&thread=3905
EDIT: Huh, on further inspection the forum here CAN fit my name. My apologies ... but also my DEEPEST thanks to the creators of this board. I love being able to fit that behemoth somewhere.

Well, I've changed to my real name, but I still stand by what I said. I won't give my name to anyone who comments on it with snively remarks.
Let's hope that we can at last move on from this whole business.

Whilst scooching round Venice, I happened upon an old curiosity shop, and noticed they had a stack of film cans labelled "La Powe del Daleks". They were twenty cents apiece, but as I had just spent my last Euro on a mint choc chip cornetto, I thought I would leave it until my next visit to Italy.

For what it's worth, I believe vgretro's story - but why can't the name and address of the shop be posted publicly ? After all, this is a shop which presumably wants as many customers as possible, not a private individual's home address.

May I suggest that this be moved to a new thread if it is to carry on. This thread is really about the two found episodes last year. Also please can people stop being abusive towards Mike. How do you expect people to come onto this board if they have a truthful story that just sounds a bit unlikely if they see what's happening here. (I know I'm not a moderator before you inform me but it needs saying.)
Ultimately it would be great if Mike had picked it up but think about it, what have we lost? From the story he tells it was some existing episodes - from my experience (which could be wrong) hoaxers don't usually lie about finding existing episodes if there is nothing new to find. Let's just hope that the film comes to light in the future.

Mr Dutton, I don't post often as I use this site purely for information. I've been following this thread and have been appalled at the treatment you've recieved from what I (given the site's content) must assume are intelligent adult males, I hope the sniping and insinuations won't deter you in posting again should you ever have the good fortune to come across anything Who related in a can.

I am near York and am on my way there in a few minutes.
Let's stop all this talk and just have the name of the shop, I'll go and ask them if it's true and that will solve this one way or another.

I think that's quite enough of the name-calling. No matter what Anthony Clark and a couple of other posters might think, there is nothing to suggest that there has been any hoaxing going on and the rudeness is thus particularly mis-placed.
This thread is for discussion of the two returned print, so not for acts of internet bullying by some posters.

My suggestion is that we need to show a degree of sensitivity and respect to others. Why is it that people tend to show a lack of respect for others online that they would share with others in person? Are we any better than hoaxsters when we refuse to show the social graces to a fellow human being?
This is not one of those "ive heard these episodes were recovered" garbage. This is simply someone saying "I pesonally saw..".. The proper procedure is research it without emotion.(Have one person respected do it).
The source of this lead has given his name and number to another member and the address of the store to another poster. Without acting like little girls lets, like men, wait and see what transpires.Richard Tipple has been on our forum for a while. Can we safely feel he can check the shop for us? After that transpires, we can get more verification from him. If some feel that he not telling the truth, then we can designate someone else we trust to follow up from him.
I hope this doesnt offend anyone because if we dont address this stuff now when a real missing episode appears we're going to scare him away. If we dont, people will not share the real leads.vgretto is working with some members.. he said the film is gone. and its not a missing episode anyway.
Time will always tell when a lead is real or not. the truth actually will come out.
Regardless, its a not missing episode. It was not one of these fantastic rumors that have been floating around.
Thanks for allowing me to share.

Once again, I believe Mike's story - but why this pointless secrecy over the name and address of the shop ? It's not like one of the Dead Sea Scrolls was sighted there ! Perhaps Richard Tipple could let us know where it is ? After all, if the place sometimes has films for sale, this could be of interest to any collector out there - and help the shop get more business. If I owned the place, I'm sure I'd want as many people as possible to know about it !

I think it's sensible to withold the name of the shop - otherwise the poor owner will likely get bombarded by callers from this board! To some this is way more important than the Dead Sea Scrolls

Hi all,
Just come online to see all this! I don't want the shop to be bombarded and would rather leave the decision to name the place to someone else. It's the kind of establishment that has something in one week, and something completely different the next. I'll PM Richard Bignal and Paul so any research that needs to be done can be done, and leave the decision to name the shop up to them.
Perhaps we can draw a line under this now.
