Yes, a good idea to show the 1971/73 TOTPs.

Richard the lyrics for the blue peter appearerance had to be changed at Biddy Baxter's insistance due to the track containing several links to drugs, As Blue Peter was aimed at a much younger audience than TOTP it was felt the song wasn't suitable for airing on the show.
The reason the TOTP performance remained with the references to drugs was the audience age, contary to popular belief this track was NOT banned by the BBC and recieved airplay on radio 1.

Don't suppose the John Henshall tapes content have been published yet - there must be some long lost gems in there.
That aside - this looks a great show to feature

I am so very pleased to see both the 1971 editions of Top Of The Pops I have been mentioning time and time and time again since they were discovered in 2008. Then everyone seemed to have forgotten about these items? Thank you again Ray and Gary for bringing these back to the surface. Likewise would be a dream come true to see the Kenny Everett edition, BFI 73' edition, and two SLADE performances!! Know many are also wanting to see the John Kongos clip, myself included. I wish I could attend an event, one of these days.
Cheers, Lance.

As a memory jogger, there are plenty of pop recordings in the Raiders recoveries / discoveries thread which is pinned to the top of the general section of the forum for everybody's reference. It collates all the finds since 2007 in one place!
