I'm pretty certain that everyone here, who remembers the show, will be fascinated to know that my late mother used to work with Brian Cant, at Cowells Department Store here in Ipswich, before he decided on a career change. We're talking late 40s/early 50s.

I remember on one occasion looking at the Equity book - can't remember what it's called but the one with all the actors biogs in - and Brian's said something like Suffolk/Norfolk accents a speciality.

Looks as though it's still being issued:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss....ctors&x=10&y=22

You'd have thought that everything would be online by now.

My own memory is of being a Post Office temp one Christmas, when loads of these were being sent out; though Christmas seems a bit late for a Yearbook?

Nowadays,of course, you might see a note that x "specialises in Received Pronunciation."
