I am delighted to announce that the poster of this wonderful clip has a domestic copy of the whole show and has Kaleidoscope's details.

Fantastic Discovery Ray. Am hoping as we all are, that the poster decided to return at least a copy of this edition to Kaleidoscope. Excellent work again in the research and discovery here Ray! Great footage, and most interested to hear in what shape and format the footage was sourced from as well here in regards.
Excellent work again here, thanks for letting us all know, and see here in regards.
Cheers, Lance.

I am pleased to announce that I have received a copy of the show - which is entirely complete from Thames logo to credits in amazingly good quality, and therefore Kal should have received their copy too.
A RECOVERY!

I have a recollection of someone posting to the effect that trawling YouTube was a waste of time.....

It's aimed at whoever it was, not that long ago, claimed that trawling YouTube was a waste of time. I think that Ray has convincingly proven that it can be a source for recovering lost material.

It obviously isn't a waste of time. BBC researchers are on YouTube looking for clips that the BBC itself doesn't have in the archive. I know of one local news clip that was initially found on YouTube and has since been broadcast on BBC4.

I look in Libraries, national, international, public, private ones, anything searchable on the web, as well as looking on youtube most weekdays. I think I've had about four recoveries (this being in the best quality, it was off a domestic Ferguson Video Recording but has been extensively cleaned up, no lines on the bottom, for example), and many finds on youtube.
I'll keep looking wherever I can. And of course if you know anybody who might have something - even celebs, I am NOT scared of contacting them - let me know.
Actually a tad off-topic, not all celebs I contact reply to me, but even some who haven't got anything did have the great courtesy to reply, two examples I would publicly like to thank for their manners and good grace are Tony Visconti and Paul Gambaccini, who didn't have anything but did reply to me. I will approach anyone to try to find lost footage!
