you dont happen to know which were censored. It'd be nice to know what might turn up.

New Zealand screened some but not all episodes from series one (in 1967), two (1970) and three (1973). We didn't get season 4. There were 6 eps from series 1 and 2 we didn't get; but we did get some of the Azimov ones - it's been stated that these were not sold overseas, but we did see some of them.
After airing, all the episodes were sent to different overseas broadcasters: Series 1 was divided up and sent to Finland (3 eps), and Hungary (8 eps); series 2 and 3 was scattered to Finland (1 ep), Sierra Leone (6 eps), Sweden (1 ep), and Yugoslavia (3 eps) - these were the last ones, sent out in June 1973. The remaining 10 eps have no fate recorded.
Most eps were given an A or Y rating, and some had censor cuts made to them.

Thanks for posting this information Jon - very interesting details. I've often been curious regarding the overseas sales of the Asimov adaptations ; going by the BBC sales catalogues for Seasons 2 and 3, it certainly looks like these were offered minus the four Asimov plays (at least to the ABC in Australia). Having said this, I'm aware that the only reason we can still view the two Season 1 adaptations is that 16mm prints were made for BBC Enterprises (for overseas sales no doubt!).
I vaguely recall that the possibility of NZ cuts being retained had been followed up at some point (akin to the two clips held in the Australian National Archives), but my memory doesn't serve me too well these days so I can't be entirely sure

One photo of Pat troughtons character staring at the Bikers wrecked bike looking disturbed.
This appeared in RT; I have a B+W photocopy somewhere used for research may try and post it on when I find it.

Actually though only 'Shattered eye' and The chopper' were logged as sent on VT to Dubai I wonder if the others were being done likewise. If there were other countries buying.
That would explain the missing VTs from series 4 from whats otherwise quite a large holding.
I suspect the episodes were just still at Enterprises for sale when the junkings were stopped though not archived.

I've now heard a copy of the audios so will try and make sense of what features. Of THE UNIVITED this was a very visual episode so this should help.
The opening has a plane noise in background presumably heard through window as the camera pans from the suitcase.
The couple were as I recall them in their 50s. The main two being George and Millie Pattison; the Ramseys are the 'ghosts'.
It starts with arrival presumably back from the pub. The Pattisons were not moving in but out hence the empty flat. They were the upstairs flat in a large Victorian type house, with other tenants below. These are also friends. They are with them celebrating some kind of work related sabbatical Mr Pattison is taking to New Zealand for 3 years.
The party takes place in the sitting room. All there was left was a large wall mirror hanging on chain similar to the one seen in the first episode of CORONATION ST. I don't think that's the same mirror the titles appear over (bedroom).
More when I have time!

Cuts were made to:
Counterfeit Man Come Buttercup, Come Daisy, Come The Eye Immortality Inc
And to clarify, the episodes that didn't screen in NZ were: Stranger in the Family Too Many Cooks Satisfaction Guaranteed The Prophet Something in the Cellar Liar Naked Sun all of series 4
Of note, unlike the others, Something in the Cellar was received as a film print; but for whatever reason it didn't go to air.

The film clips from the eye might of been junked. I think I'm right in saying that censors from dr who episodes Marco Polo, The Reign of Terror and Galaxy 4, possibly others, were junked pre 1996 (when the austrailian censor clips were found) beacuse of a 30 year policy they had. The earliest clips are from the smugglers (1966). It's odd then that the clips from the eye weren't there then as the eye was broadcast a few weeks after the smugglers, in the UK anyway.

This is certainly consistent with what was screened here in Australia - the Season 2 package was also missing "Too Many Cooks" as well (although ironically the sales catalogue featured a photo from this particular play).
It's interesting to speculate whether the print of "Immortality Inc" cut and broadcast in NZ was the one that had been previously edited by the Aussie Censors? A brief 5 second cut (a sword being plunged into a man's stomach) is still retained in the archives over here. Incidentally, for those interested, full details of the content of the cut from the fourth season play "The Last Witness" has now been added to the OOTU clips guide: http://www.zetaminor.com/cult/out_unknown/ootu_clips_guide_s4.htm

The two cuts made to Immortality Inc were for the use of the word "bastard".

Continuing my breakdown - George Pattison proposes a toast in the sitting room and raises his glass. I seem to recall him in thick bottle glass type balck rimmed glasses with a dark (possibly brown) button up cardigan. That furniture which is in the flat has the look of many 1950s flats; quaint and old.
As Mrs Pattison does this, the camera shot changes view so we see the camera framing the wall mirror; which is hanging on a chain. Pattisons head and shoulders are seen reflected from the back. On the coundtrack; this is where the menacing whirr of the elecronic radiophonic sound begins. The pitch rises as Pattison turns slowly round; shaking as if anticipating something strange.
The room seen in the mirror as far as I recall has no one else in it but him. It's a different room. (This part of the plot is similar to the Googie Withers segment in the Ealing film DEAD OF NIGHT).
According to Hammers remake (IN POSSESSION); the sitting room has a bird cage on a metal stand in one corner. This was not something I recalled but would explain the nearby bird sounds heard often heard later behind the male 'ghost's voice (Brian Wilde). I do recall there was a velvet or leather sort of Edwardian couch; think with end pillow type rest; and exotic plants. Like large rubber or vine plants that came up to head height; and spiky evergreen plants on pots by the couch.
The room seen has daylight coming through windows but the event takes place at night.
The tenants from downstairs (guests) ask Mrs Pattison if George is alright.
SCENE 2 - Someone is seen asking asking where a room is; is it upstairs.
The two downstairs tenants are back in their flat discussing what happened (or it may be the Pattisons not sure).
The Pattisons are seen in their bedroom; Mrs P winds up clock and checks the alarm and puts it by their bed. According to what Colin Cutler said only this and the mirror; or mirror table with postcards and the Crucifix are the only things in the room. I recall all the walls as being plain white paint.
Presumably by now they are dressed for bed. I recall Mr P had white pajamas; I think striped and Mrs P a white nightdress.
Mrs P says she misses the Dog. She has left something they want to pack in another room. She says she will check the cupboard in the passage and goes to look. As she goes out the escalating electronic pitch is heard again. I recall her frowning as the end cupboard is slightly open and has a light on inside. She slowly goes to look and pushes the door open.
It's different inside; larger than a cupboard and there are different strange things inside. Again I recall white walls. Her view as seen shows (from door) a tall set of central shelves. These are above head height and split into 3 or more units; you could see the other side of the room through them. They were to the left. On the middle shelf is a stuffed armadillo; then several old fashioned large pickling jars. One contains 2 sea urchins.
On the back wall at the left is another, white, door. This has a sort of coats rack with hooks at about chest height. Several flat type fish are hung on these hooks presumably to smoke them. Can't recall if there's a trunk inside or its in the corner outside the cupboard. Mrs Pattison notices this box; which looks like a treasure chest and moves towards it. Obviously shes baffled but opens the lid.
In IN POSSESSION a thin womans body with a scarf; having been strangled is seen. I seemed to think the body seen here was a naked torso as seen in DOOMWATCH 'TOMMORROW THE RAT'. And like that; that it had been beheaded.
It may be that the male ghost later seen strangled the female ghost then later beheaded it as the body is seen again indicated by the sound.
She makes a horrified stifled shocked cry and hurries back to Mr Pattison. 'Out there; there's a dead womans body'.
The etnsion is maintained by the electronic sound as Mr Pattison slowly goes to look. As he pushes the door open it's a normal cupboard again (grey inside I think; smaller and empty).
She describes that she saw a trunk with a womans body in it.
He suggests they are over tired and need to get some sleep. there's a short discussion about how the two know what the other is thinking at times.
Mrs Pattison sounds like Actress Megs Jenkins/. I recall her as looking similar to the still of Freda Bampton seen in RT for THE FOSTERS; dumpy with short haircut.

Does anyone remember anything from the first half and last minute of the little black bag. The surviving footage represents the future scenes very badly.

Unidentified scene on sound where tap drips. What I think may have happened is George turned over and the camera panned in on Mrs Pattisons face lying looking worried in the dark as a tap drips. The sound gets louder and may have faded to scene of the empty hall and bathroom.
