You are right, George. The last thing we need is more missing episode rumors. I hope Doctor Who fans aren't taking the rumors seriously and are planning to attend the Missing - Believed Wiped event later this year because of those rumors. Unconfirmed rumors usually turn into major disappointments.

Mind of Evil: That's going to take a longer time to fully colorize, sorry.
Ice Warriors: Oh I think the rumors are pretty substantial in regards to them making a reappearance this Christmas with Matt Smit--- oh. You mean the missing Troughton episodes? No. Pretty much a dead end lead there I'm assuming.

Yeah, there is no point in turning up the heat even higher when the rumors cannot be confirmed as fact. The last thing Paul Vanezis needs is to be flooded with e-mails asking about lost episodes that haven't been found. I'm sure this isn't the case, but if he received a payment each time he was asked a question on whether an episode has been found, I'm sure he'd be a very rich man.

Episodes 2-6 have been colour-recovered, and are being/have been worked on - the raw recovery needed a lot of work afterwards. Stuart Humphreys is recolourising Part 1 by hand-painting (on average) every 6th frame. Peter Crocker is then joining the gaps. Think completion is a little way off.

It is, indeed, a very long process and it is important to understand that he's doing this as well as his job! Seven hours at work and then seven hours colourising! I hope we'll see it by the 50th but I'm not certain that we will.

Sounds amazing though. Can't wait for it to arrive! The video release of that story was one of the best of that entire range in my opinion:the story, the time period when it was made, even the packaging was memorable and the fact that it was in black and white didn't detract from my enjoyment of it at all!Definitely one to watch late on a saturday night with a glass of wine!

Seconded there. Was also very nice to see the existing Betamax colour material at the end. I also felt that the monochrome nature of this story was quite pleasant, not distracting in any way. Or a nice good dark brew! Loved the VHS cover illustration here as well, really liked the vortex montage with Pertwee, Delgado, and Thunderbolt. Fingers crossed in that we do not have long to wait. Would make an amazing surprise for the 50th to say the very least.
Cheers, Lance.

When we finally see it in colour, it will be like watching a never seen before Pertwee for many of us, me included. Another fantastic story only ever shown once on BBC in 40 yrs. That idea seems crazy now. How things have changed!!

Indeed it will. Of course we know it was amde in full colour, but we've all got so used to it being in black-and-white, that at times you can think it was actually made that way.
