Audio Commentry Fury from the Deep?
« Thread Started on Jun 17, 2012, 9:07am »

Hi,
I just checked on the doctor who news page,
Sound designer Brian Hodgson has recorded a commentry for Dvd on the Moonbase and the Fury from the Deep?
Is this a mistake or are the bbc not telling us some thing?
http://www.doctorwhonews.net/
also there will be an announcement on Ambassadors to be made in a few weeks!

I think it's safe to assume that he mistake fury from the deep with underwater menace, as the are both water based stories.

I knew it! They've retrieved that hidden copy of "Fury from the Deep" from it's disused London Underground Station storage facility after all...

Yes, it's a mistake. DVD participants are always getting mixed up about what they've contributed to.

it would be amazing if they have found it or even a part of it, as it is unlikely to turn up.
it would also be interesting if the prints were Australian but who knows, most likely they might have found a clip or something.

...or, as is far more likely, he was just thinking of the wrong story.

Occam's razor suggests he mistook which serial it was, nothing more.

Why "The Moonbase", the surviving episodes are on the "Lost in Time" set ? That's as intriguing a question.

Sounds like they are going to release them again, possibly with animated versions of episodes 1 and 3. That is just a guess. Nothing has been confirmed that I know of.

We all hope something is out there, but I could see the Moonbase animated it would be one of the simpler ones to do. They could also animate the last 2 eps from the Underwater Menace as well rumored Ice Warriors and the Tenth Planet. Since some behind the scenes and film clips of Fury from the Deep exist maybe an animation project in the future may happen ~ but the amount of eps to be animated is a solid number and they would like to get commentaries before we lose anyone along the way and the BBC would still have some records left ~ seems more plausable at this time.

Reign of Terror, Crusades, Tenth Planet, Underwater Menace, Moonbase, Ice Warriors, and the Invasion were always going to be the easier ones to animate cost wise .... We already have the Invasion, Reign of Terror is almost complete, and they had confirmed Ice Warriors and Tenth Planet. I wouldn't be surprised if the other three were to be announced at some point.

I think the BBC has decided to go ahead with animation which in any case will take some time.

I think Galaxy 4 and The Celestial Toymaker could also be animated, since they have a template in the one episode they each have.
