That isn't just indoctrination, it is an actual science known as statistics that those numbers are based on. I'm not a fan of sales, but the numbers and mathematics behind them are real enough. However, I don't believe that really applies here anyway. I believe that keeping an open mind to anything new and at the same time not getting anyone's hopes up is much more important. Just patience and keeping all information as accurate as possible.

It's an incorrect application of statistics (probability theory)... Anything that's already happened does not impact the probability of the next one - it's still 1 in 25 ... If you ask 2000 people and they all say no, the chance of the next one saying 'yes' is still 1 in 25...

Oh, I thought this had been bumped back up for an update. Was slightly excited for a moment.
Ah well, back to bed....

The general concept was, assuming there are still episodes out there, the more one looks, the more likely one is to find that episode. Of course looking smart is a piece of the puzzle also.
We get bogged down with statistics, but my hero is still Ray who instead of getting caught up with this stuff is going out and finding material. He's a role model to all of us.

I was also hoping for an update, but the only way we're going to find out is when they announce the month that the DVD is going to be released, or if they announce plans to animate episodes 2-3 of that story. We'll have our answer at that point.

Word has come in from ZDF confirming it no longer holds the prints of The Ice Warriors held back in 1968.
Sad but hardly unexpected....

Question now on my mind is if they know what happened to them.
Sad but unexpected is true. Still, it's nice to know that they had them at one point. Any bit of historical information is a nice find in my opinion.

Jon.. thanks for following up and posting it to end the rumors that they are being hidden away for a dvd release.
Is there any paper trail to where they might have went?

Is that because they've just given them back to the BBC?

Depending on if ZDF has any record as to their fate, it may behoove them to have a kind news article or news segment asking 16mm collectors in Germany if they have those prints. It be like finding a needle on the mega-planet Haystacktopia, but it's something.
If the result is "we sent them back to you" or "we sent them to ((INSERT COUNTRY HERE))", then the hunt goes on.

I'm pretty sure that the prints would have gone back to the BBC - they were BBC property sent over for previewing. Why wouldn't they want them back? Jon probably knows for sure...

Ah, hell. More bad luck. When you take into account cruel hoaxers and other disappointments over the years, I am starting to think we are cursed.
