 Possible source of material?

Maybe an obvious choice, but has anyone ever contacted the Museum of TV and Radio in America to see if they hold any missing Doctor Who episodes?

didn't some US studio wan't to make a film of Dr Who or a TV version for the USA, and also TV excecs in america must have seen some when bbc enterprises was trying to flog them the series in the mid sixties, so it is worth a try, but where to look? the motvar seems like a good place to start.

Don't waste your time. All TV archives that it has been possible to contact (ie all of those not in countries with which diplomatic relations have soured) have been contacted.

That doesn't mean they definitely don't hold anything of interest, but that that if they do they probably don't know it. The only way to find anything through foreign archives would be to search them yourself, which is impossible. There's little room for amateurs in this sphere.

And most archives receiving letters enquiring after Dr Who file them immediately in the bin, unanswered. Dr Who fans have repeatedly proved themselves a pain in the arse to archives - why should them got to any trouble to help out a spotty teenager? - lets not go on being an irritant.

It was 1964 and someone at the British office of Disney, who had seen the series on air...

Since it was someone in the British office of Disney, he didn't need to 'come over here' to see it - he just went home and watched it on TV :)
