Chris Farlowe Ready Steady Go Dec. 20 1966
« Thread Started on Jun 29, 2012, 10:51am »

Has anyone ever found Chris Farlowe together with Mick Jagger in an episode of RSG Dec. 20 1966 performing Out of Time and Satisfaction? This was the farewellparty broadcasted Dec. 23.
Thanks for any reaction,
Alex.

No. The show like far too many RSG! editions is long gone.

It's a shame that what survives of RSG is mainly from the earlier '63 ' - '64 period when arguably a lot of the most potentially interesting material is from '65 - '66, when the beat boom had really kicked in. It's often the case that the later episodes of a show are the ones which survive. Still, RSG has a better survival rate than TOTP for the same period (I know, that isn't saying much but..! ::)).

Totally agree Laurence. As good as what we have is, it does frustrate me that we only have mere fragments from 1965 and 1966. There's loads of great photos about showing all these great bands - many playing live, but... no footage. What 65 and 66 stuff there is fantastic in the dynamic camerawork etc. Instead what we mostly have is mimed stuff. Again, not being ungrateful but when one looks at listings of 1965 and 1966 shows, one could almost weep. That final show certainly would had been something special to see again as they crammed in as many acts as possible, keeping it short and doing unique collaborations and one off performances.
