 BBC PUNK SPECIALS
« Thread Started on May 15, 2012, 12:24pm »

Apparently the BBC are screening some punk documentary's and compilation clips shows on BBC4 called PUNK BRITANNIA during the Jubilee period, wouldn't it be nice if we could see the Pistols "Anarchy in the UK" from the Nationwide show clip, in it's entirety, it states on the Pistols web site the archives will be trawled for material to be used for these upcoming programmes..

The Anarchy in The UK clip from Nationwide is complete but with a voiceover on the actual performance for about a minute or so.

Would like to see the Brass Tacks programme on Punk Rock from 1977, maybe this will be included I have only seen clips from it but would say it was an essential part of any night on original punk.

Much of the Nationwide appearance was captured on "Sex Pistols Number One" film. I heard he had the complete "Today" show with Grundy. So I am told, Freemantle only have the interview clip.

Which, amazingly they got from the BBC. No joke. For those of you who don't know the story, it was a Bob Pratt tape! (Bob also managed to get some US footage as well, although obviously the majority of his stuff was BBC!)

The Bob Pratt 'Today' recording is in broadcast standard, but is not the complete show - it's just the final 5 minute Sex Pistols sequence and cuts out half way through the end credits.

Freemantle only hold a poor quality ex-vhs timecoded copy of the Bob Pratt sequence, which they must have got from the BBC at some point.

It would appear that the complete show was never recorded.
