To confirm another posting - in the series ANATOMY OF POP; the Fairport Convention clip 70 which looks like the TOTP set is believed to be a wiped DISCO 2.

The Madielene Bell solo track is a missing TOTP clip. This is I believe the only solo release she had at that time; in 1969; and is I think just under a minute of it. It's on B+W T/R.

Oh just another question for LPmoderator.

You mention in an earlier posting about correspondents needing to use a private e-mail facility as this is a non trading forum.

Is there a similar facility here to MAUSOLEUM CLUBs 'U2U' and how would one go about using it?

Thanks.

If you want to e-mail anyone directly, there is a "members" tag to click on at the top of the page. You can search whoever you wish there individually.

Just also wanted to add these corrections / additions for the database. -

1964 (none)

1965 - Righteous Bros (as previously amended).
GET OFF MY CLOUD - this is believed to be a T/R insert for the
show .

1966 - 2 complete (as amended)
GETAWAY georgie fame - TOTP film exists on BBCs ZOKKO.

1967 - FINCHLEY CENTRAL new vaudeville band - TOTP film exists
on ZOKKO.
ZABADAK - query R and R years being different thought it
was the same clip (Xmas) tinted?
SUDDENLY I LOVE YOU tremeloes. This looks like a T/R of
a promo that may have been an exported segment of TOTP?

1968 - YOUNG GIRL gary puckett - referred to as 'promo'. Strictly
speaking its a TOTP film.
MaCARTHUR PARK - unconfirmed if this is an outside promo
or TOTP film though it's held by the BBC.

1969 - MADELEINE BELL - solo single TOTp studio performance think
20 secs exists on ANATOMY OF POP series.

1970 - LEAVING ON A JET PLANE peter paul + mary - colour TOTP film
version exists on OUTA SPACE.
TEMMA HARBOUR - this is a vision mix between a promo;
stills of mary hopkin and studio with Pans People.

For the later years -

1970 - MOONSHADOW cat stevens - TOTP film exists on OUTA
SPACE.

p.s.

1972 - MORNING HAS BROKEN cat stevens - what looks like a TOTP film
appears on OUTA SPACE (1973). Think the other stevens
track may be on ED AND ZED actually?

1973 - HELLO HURRAY alice cooper - recent posting on YouTube seems
to be promo I recall TOTP using; where Vince Furnier is pacing
one end of stage to the other; live. This posting seems to
include an artist heading in colour similar to the type used on
SWEET coco on TOTP 1971.

There are two Jimi Hendrix tracks from 67 that survive.
'Purple Haze' and 'Wind Cries Mary'
but not in the BBC archive.

Pauls right.

BBC have Hendrix performing 'Manic depression' on late night line up from 1967.

The other footage they have are the two 'happening for Lulu' 1969 tracks edited onto another tape when the shows master was wiped in 1973.

The other TOTP appearences are from private hands. It has been stated these are 8mm off air.

The 'Purple Haze' was speculated to be an off cut sent to European TV for a while.

Thanks for some more feedback and info. I've updated some of the items that can be 100% confirmed. and added the 'promo' heading suggestion that John suggested. thanks.

I hadn't heard of a WINDMILLS OF YOUR MIND performance turning up. When was this?

Can't find the reference for this clip. Can anyone confirm this exists ?
The Cat Stevens track Moonshadow & Morning has Broken - not 100% sure that these are totp films (again can anyone confirm 100%?)

This is from Disco and is a record company promo of the track used by various tv stations.

The R&R Years version is tinted but is definitely a different performance that the one held by the BBC.
