What makes you think it is earlier?
The Captain Scarlet link may be misleading. Don't forget all those shows were shown again and again in the 70's.

It was actually HTV that made it. I recall it from the time and a clip from an episode was screened at a past MBW at the NFT.

If it's of any help to anyone, I've been told that the majority of this material is silent including the link pieces. So pretty useless for any archive really

are we talking about the ebay auction of 60's TV pop type shows that are mostly silent.. useless,, BOLLOX !!! the bands would have been mostly miming to the relesed version anyhow so it COULD be a tresure trove of britpop waiting to be re-dubbed !!!

They were not on tape, all 16mm film the ones I've seen.
They do survive certainly in private hands anyway.
