Hi,

The Purity League is now available for download at -

http://www.mediafire.com/?vkcmf2ezwoh

As far as I can see this is the last one I have that was not in the public domain.
Does this mean that all are now accounted for?

Cheers,

Marc.

First, a big thanks to Marc for his recent uploads.

Thanks to Marc, I'm now only missing three episodes - The Excursion, The New Level Crossing, and The Film Makers. Could some kind person point me to where I might download one or more of these three (I can see from the above posts that at least one of them, The New Level Crossing, is available).

Thanks
Charlie

I second your big thanks to Marc! It has been wonderful that you've shared these episodes with us, thanks very much.

I do have a copy of The New Level Crossing but the condition of it is appaulling and it's missing part of it from memory. Is there a good clear version out there? I don't think I have come across the other two you mentioned Charlie. But the number of lost episodes has diminished greatly. A few years ago there were only five known to survive with the BBC.

It has been a joy to read about all these discoveries of a series once so poorly represented and I look forward to listening to them.

One thing that does confuse me is that it doesn't seem to say in the thread if these episodes have been returned to the BBC?

BBC7 has aired Parsley Sidings in the past and always has a home for rediscovered episodes.

When I was collecting episodes from collectors around the world a few years back, I offered them to the BBC on two occasions and never heard anything back. Ignorance or rudeness?

I did make copies for the UK Dad's Army Appreciation Society so other fans could hear them.

Looks like I overlooked The Excursion so it's now available from -

http://www.mediafire.com/?zm3zym24mm9

I have checked through the episodes I need, they are

The Pilot
Pass The Parcel
The Flower Show
The Entente Cordial
The Goods Train
The New Level Crossing
The Film Makers

If anyone will be good enough to let me have any of these I will be very grateful.

Thanks,

Marc.

Dogstar,

Very many thanks for posting these for public access. However, some of them now show "This file is currently set to private. This error has been forwarded to MediaFire's development team."

Is this something you've done - or have your grateful readers broken Mediafire by frenzied downloading ? <g>

Marc

Thanks for the further episode. I've upped the first five on your missing list - but please note that the quality of two of them (The Flower Show and The Good Train) is very poor. Perhaps someone could point us towards better copies ... ? And if someone could send me the link referrred to above for The Level Crossing ... please ....

EPISODE GUIDE

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SERIES 1 | 2
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A pilot show was broadcast on the 28.2.71 with two series following this over the next couple of years. In all, 21 episodes were made, all went out on Radio 2, and were scripted by Jim Eldridge and produced by Edward Taylor. With the standard practice of keeping a show as a representative of the series, only two have survived in the BBC archives. If you have any more than the two listed above, can you please contact me steve@britishcomedy.org.uk

Are all episodes now accounted for? i think maybe some one should try and contact the BBC again about these episodes, they have a real place in radio history and I'm sure would be of interest to lots of people.......they deserve a wider audience. congratulations the those people on this forum who took the time and effort to share the episodes they have. i had no idea of their existence until some one started the thread

For more detail when it comes to an episode list please see my webpage here, which I put togetehr a few years back with the help of Jim Eldridge himself. I probably need to update the page now with all these wonderful new epsidoes coming out of the woodwork:

Marc
I have
The Pilot - The Royal Train
Pass the Parcel
Entente Cordiale

I understand you have
Cricket, Lovely cricket
which I dont have

quaint, of this parish, appears to have the rest we do not have except for
The New Level Crossing
The Film Makers

We can exchange or, better still, post links to them all and the rest of the series maybe, so everyone can get a full set.

Surely this is what this forum is all about isn't it?

Hello to you all,

Firstly a big thank you to Charlieboy for uploading the episodes I required. I have downloaded them all and will listen to them very shortly. Thanks for your offer Don it is much appreciated, Cricket Lovely Cricket is once again available, let me know if you have any problems.

The first post I made on this group concerned returning episodes to the BBC. Some years ago I too had a negative response when I offered these twelve to them. I now think it is better if people like us look after them, if the BBC had taken them would they be available to download or just archived and unavailable?

Judging by the response and interest, and the request made by Don, here are the twelve episodes I recorded. I have no idea if these are better or worse than what is already out there. I must apologise for the credit cut offs, but as a teenager at school tape was an expensive item, and you certainly didn’t waste it with bits that weren’t necessary!

All are available at -

1_01 The Market Special - http://www.mediafire.com/?rgs2uwzboue

1_02 The Postal Express - http://www.mediafire.com/?exzkjezebak

1_03 The Beauty Queen Contest - http://www.mediafire.com/?0mzjmlqwmib

1_04 The Inspector Calls - http://www.mediafire.com/?uwbi0mivzmh

1_05 The 1890 Rocket - http://www.mediafire.com/?xytzsx1hnml

1_06 The Excursion - http://www.mediafire.com/?zm3zym24mm9

1_07 Cricket Lovely Cricket - http://www.mediafire.com/?thtznjdmx2d

1_08 Who’ll Be Mother - http://www.mediafire.com/?jdz1bezw9pk

1_09 The Concert - http://www.mediafire.com/?mnmgm1bz02x

1_10 Goodbye Parsley Sidings - http://www.mediafire.com/?3wacbszwtwl

2_06 A Bird In The Hand - http://www.mediafire.com/?gezgdvtzf0h

2_07 The Purity League - http://www.mediafire.com/?vkcmf2ezwoh

If any better copies are discovered I hope they will be offered for download by the finders, we are so nearly there.

Cheers,

Marc.
